Duplex Strainer working principle
The working principle of a duplex strainer is based on the concept of filtration. A fluid flowing through a pipeline enters the strainer, and solid particles are trapped in the basket, while the filtered fluid exits through the other side. The duplex design allows for continuous operation because one basket can be cleaned or replaced while the other continues to strain the fluid. When the basket in use becomes clogged with solids, a valve is opened, and the flow is redirected to the second basket. The first basket can then be removed, cleaned, or replaced, and the process is repeated as necessary. This design provides a high level of protection for downstream equipment and helps to maintain the quality of the fluid being processed.
