Centrifugal Sand Separator “IWAKO” :  A centrifugal sand separator, commonly referred to as a hydrocyclone, is a device used extensively to remove sand and other heavy particulates from fluids, primarily water. This device employs centrifugal force to separate solids from liquids and is favored for its efficiency and simplicity in a variety of industrial, agricultural, and municipal applications.

• Intake and Acceleration:
  Fluid containing particulates enters the hydrocyclone through an inlet at the side or top, directed tangentially to create a strong rotational flow. This tangential introduction causes the fluid to spin rapidly within a cylindrical or conical chamber.
• Centrifugal Separation:
  As the fluid spirals inside the chamber, denser materials such as sand and other particulates are forced outward to the hydrocyclone’s wall by centrifugal forces, much greater than the force of gravity. This effect causes the particles to move towards the lower taper or cone section of the hydrocyclone.
• Particle Collection:
  The separated particles accumulate at the bottom of the cone in a collection chamber or are directly ejected periodically through a controlled underflow discharge outlet. The design of the outlet is critical in determining the efficiency of particle removal and the concentration of the underflow.
• Discharge of Cleaned Fluid:
  The lighter and cleaner fluid, which naturally moves toward the center of the vortex, reverses direction and spirals upwards. This cleaned fluid exits through an overflow outlet at the top of the hydrocyclone.

• Irrigation Systems: In agriculture, they prevent sand from clogging the irrigation sprinklers and nozzles, ensuring consistent water flow and protecting sensitive equipment.

• Mining and Oil Industries: Employed to separate sands from mineral and oil mixtures, aiding in the extraction and processing phases.
